I know you will stroke the fur on this long haired sterling silver kitten whose soulful ruby eyes and curled tail are irresistible. The eyes look to you for a response, perhaps to "pick me up". The tail and ears extend above and below the case. The clasp is ruby topped. Inside are three gold overlaid compartments one of which can hold paper bills.
A mirror takes up one inner leaf behind which is a large compartment with a lever that allows the mirror to stand for admiring your image. I once sold a pendant of this image not marked as to metal quality or country of origin. I am certain the company that made this is the same though no markings exist. The silver has been acid tested. The compact with the chain is 10 inches in length. The case itself is 3 3/4 inches high and 2 1/2 inches wide. The condition of the outside is perfect. The mirror has spots where the back silver is starting to destabilize. There is one small chip on the upper left of the mirror that cannot be felt. It is not sharp to touch and is stabile. The image of the owner is not compromised. The inner portion is normal wear with age as I have described. Weight 239 grams. It is worth its weight in love. A kind follower has advised me that the compact is German. The silversmith is Louis Kuppenheim. Cat lovers will cherish this beautifully made object d'Art.
