PINCUSHION...or Half Dolls can be plentiful but those with special attributes are a different story.
This elegant 3.5” example has both a marvelous Original Period Wig and Jointed Arms. She is also made of bisque, not glazed china, so this elegant half doll could be made up into a wonderful Lady Doll.
She has a very personable face with big painted blue eyes and a gentle expression. Her's has a gentle aspect and looks like a real doll. She has something of a Gibson Girl aesthetic . Her thick luscious head of braided hair is enviable.! Full and uncut, it is gathered in a chignon low down on the back of the neck. The arms are jointed at the shoulders and that also makes her easy to sew for. Each arm has a different curve to it and this along with her delineated fingers gives her a certain grace.
As you can see she is a wonderful and decorative bust all on her own. However, she would also make a deserving project worthy of your talents.
Mark: 1241 incised at the rear base and under her left arm.
Condition: Excellent with occasional kiln specks on limbs...no chips or damages.
