Embossed Iowa 'Tweedy Hybrid' Seed Corn 17" x 23 1/2" metal advertising sign from R.J. Tweedy & Sons ( Tweedy Hybrid Seed Corn Co.). This was a small localized seed corn company out of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. Most of this small companies promotional advertising was done in the early to mid 1950's. The company was sold in 1970.

This sign shows wear with shallow bends, rubs, spotting, scratching and age darkening. There is considerable wear around the edges and a small tear in the metal in the upper right hand corner. The yellow lettering has darkened with age but still looks very nice against the colorful green background. This is a relatively rare sign and although this one certainly shows its age and considerable usage it holds its own and displays very well.
