This is a wonderful piece may be from the Civil War-Revolutionary war.Carved on a piece of MOP or abalone the capture of the flag.May have been done by a soldier in the war.The piece is 2 1/4 by 3 1/4. Many items like this done by soldiers with things that they found.The writing is definitely old. An interesting cameo
