Victorian rebus intaglio seal fob - fabulous!

This piece is a watch fob or pendant with an intaglio seal on its base. The seal matrix is hand-carved carnelian. It has a rebus on it, which is a puzzle composed of words and images. It reads:

I saw your friends who are all well

I (picture of an eye)
saw (picture of a saw)
your (picture of an ewer)
friends
who
are (the letter R)
all (picture of an awl)
well (picture of a well)

The setting is 10K yellow gold in an elegant ribbed pattern. Metal is not marked, but acid tested as minimum 10K gold. A delightful example of the seal-makers art!

Measurements: Approximately 1" tall

Condition: Very good condition in keeping with an antique item that has been gently used and loved. There may have once been a ball over the center of the seal base, mirroring that at the top of the top loop.
