Each exquisite piece of this beautiful Schumann Bavaria White and Gold sugar and creamer set is designed to resemble a large acanthus leaf. In fine quality snow white porcelain, the molded veins and edges of the leaf are trimmed in gleaming gold. Each leaf edge begins and ends in a golden spiral which matches the shape of the handle of the creamer. The handle of the creamer, as well as the feet and rims of both pieces are also trimmed in gold.
The Sugar is 2-1/2 inches tall and the opening is 3-1/2 inches by 2-5/8 inches. It stands on 1-3/4 inch round foot. The creamer is 4-inches to the pouring spout, 3-1/4 to the rim. The Creamer opening is 2-1/2 inches by 1-1/2 inches and 3-1/2 inches across the handle and spout. It stands on a 1-5/8 inch round foot.
Each is stamped with the Schumann green Lion and Crown Shield mark with "Schumann Bavaria Germany" below followed by the number 94. This mark was used by Schumann circa the 1950s.
There is an extra bit of gold on the front of the creamer, and other than expected shelf wear on the underside of the foot, there are no other condition issues.
This mold is nearly identical to Carlton Ware acanthus leaf pieces. Thank you for visiting MaggieBelle's Memories! Please see my Favorite Links to follow me on Pinterest!
