From the Royal Albert Flower of the Month Series, here is the Bone China Cosmos Teacup and Saucer for October. A lovely gift for a teacup collector, or an October birthday or anniversary, clusters of delicate Cosmos flowers in shades of pink, white, and purple on a sky blue background are featured on this sweet teacup and saucer. Accented with airy green foliage, the flowers are on both the front and back of the Montrose shape cup, with a matching garland of blossoms inside the top edge framing the word "October" in sepia brown. The inside rim of the cup and the rim of the saucer each have a ring of green leaves alternating with a dot of the same green. The saucer has three matching sprays, one larger than the other two and covering about 1/3 of the saucer rim. Both cup and saucer are trimmed with gold on the scalloped edge, and the cup foot and handle are also trimmed in gold.
This Bone China cup is 2-3/4 inches tall on a 1-7/8 inch diameter foot. The handle is about another 1/4 inch above the rim. It is 3-1/2 inches in diameter with another inch for the handle.
Each piece is marked with a color miniature of the Cosmos motif followed by "Royal Albert" in pink "Bone China England" in green "Flower of the Month Series" in a concave semicircle, and finished with the word "Cosmos." This series was made by Royal Albert China circa 1970.
The dark places around the rim of the cup in the photos are caused by residue from a piece of tape. That residue has been removed. The mark on the bottom of the cup is missing the top of the "A" and a bit of the flowers, but there are no other condition issues.
