This vintage 1940s Hall China Cadet Blue Handled Pepper Shaker is in the Royal Rose pattern. Cadet Blue is a beautiful solid, medium blue shade. This one-piece shaker is blue with a narrow platinum band around the rim below the white top. The handle is also decorated with a stripe of platinum. The top is white with a pink wild rose on green leaves tipped with pale blue. Similar to the Rose Parade pattern, these roses are considerably larger than those on the white handled pieces of Rose Parade, but the two patterns blend well together. The word "Pepper" is printed at the top in uppercase black lettering.
This handled shaker measures 5-1/8 inches tall and 3-1/4 inches in diameter at its widest.
Made by Hall China around the 1940's, it is not marked. This kitchenware line was "Guaranteed against breakage in oven heat," and received the Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval.
There are a couple of glaze pops that appear as dark spots, one on the top and one on the back about an inch from the handle. There are four tiny pinpoint stains on the front side in the white of the top, and a dip in the silver band on the left side. The original cork is gone. There are no chips or cracks.
