The Cambridge Glass No. 703 Etch, Florentine, is rarely found in pink, but here it is in this elegant Sugar and Creamer set! This Numbered Etch No. 703, known as Florentine, is an acid-etched delight in a band of swirls and scrolls on a stippled background.
The sugar is 2-7/8 inches tall, about 3 inches at the handles, and the creamer is 3-1/2 inches tall at the spout. The sugar is 3-3/8 inches in diameter and 5-3/4 inches across the handles, and the matching creamer is 3-1/4 inches in diameter, 4-3/4 across the handle and lip. The foot on the sugar is 2-1/8 inches in diameter while the foot on the creamer is 1-7/8 inches in diameter.
Each is marked with the signature Cambridge "C" in triangle mark.
Florentine was made by Cambridge during the late 1920s and is most often found in green. Though I think the word "rare" is often overused, it is safe to say that the pink, Cambridge Peach-Blo, is found very infrequently.
The sugar has a bubble in the bottom and two flaws on the foot that look like popped bubbles. The creamer has a popped bubble in the top near the spout and a one-inch scratch coming up from the bottom. There are no chips in these lovely pieces.
