Libbey made these commemorative Rocks glasses with 22 Karat gold and aqua riverboats for Southern Comfort for their 1968 Centennial. On rectangular backgrounds, steamboats paddle along the river in aqua and 22 Karat gold. One boat's golden paddlewheel has the initials SC for Southern Comfort in the center, while another is backed with stunning shiny gold. Two flowers accent the design, and a narrow gold band around the rim completes these glasses.
Also called Old Fashioned glasses, each of these straight sided tumblers measures 3-1/8 inches tall and 2-7/8 inches in diameter.
The embossed Libbey "L" is on several of the matching tumblers in this pattern, but it is missing from the bottom of these smaller ones. "SC" for Southern Comfort" is in the design.
Made by Libbey circa 1968, most have some wear on the gold in varying degrees, as you would expect in glassware of this age, but as a set they are gorgeous with the striking combination of gold and aqua. There are no chips.
