This Rosenthal RC Malmaison Bavaria floral plate itself looks like the petals of a flower with its scalloped edge. It is exquisitely hand painted with deep purple, butter yellow, and pale lavender to white pansies on a muted background of purple fading to soft lavender and moss green. The scalloped edges are finished with gold trim.
Made of hard paste porcelain, this scalloped hand painted pansies plate measures 9 inches in diameter.
The backstamp is of crossed lines with a crown and R.C. Malmaison Bavaria in green. The artist's initials, "C.F.H." are also on the back of the plate. This mark was used by Rosenthal from 1898 to 1906.
The only flaw is minor wear on the gold.
