Scrolling stylized poppy flowers and intertwined vines surround this round footed cup. The design is repeated in the bottom of the cup, which sits on a pretty serrated edged foot. This pattern, Florentine Number 1, more often known as Poppy, is often confused with Poppy Number 2, but this pink cup was only made for the Number 1 pattern. The two patterns differ mainly in the shapes of the pieces and blend very nicely together.
This Depression Glass cup measures 3-1/2 inches in diameter, add 3/4 inch for the handle. It stands 2-1/4 inches tall on a 2 inch diameter foot.
There is no mark. This pattern was made by Hazel-Atlas from 1932-1935.
The only flaw is an almost imperceptible spot on the top edge near the handle that will catch your fingernail. It is so tiny that it is extremely difficult to see, even under black light.
