This green Fostoria Heirloom Oblong Bowl makes a bold statement with its opalescent wide ribs, unusual freeform shaping, and zigzag rim. Made by Fostoria between 1959 and 1970, the Heirloom pattern is a stunning example of American artistry that advertised it was made like hand-made glass of a century ago. Heirloom was made in only a few "fine giftware" pieces.
This uniquely colored blue-green glass bowl was numbered 1515/270, and measures 13-inches long by 6-1/4 inches wide by 3-1/2 inches deep. There is no mark.
The inside rim of the ground and polished foot on the underside has some slight roughness, and there is a minuscule one-millimeter spot in the bottom as though something was dropped in it. Otherwise, this piece of craftsmanship from a bygone era is absolutely stunning.
