Immerse yourself in the cool, distinctive sea green glaze of Adams Calyx Ware! This "Metz" Cup and Saucer was made sometime between 1930 and 1966. With the beautiful sea green as a backdrop, it has delicate pale purple-pink flowers and deep green leaves both outside and inside of the cup, and the rim is ringed in pink laurel, finished with mustard yellow trim. The saucer features even more detail, adding a low fence or building almost hidden by the trailing flowers.
Both pieces are stamped with the older pink backstamp, which reads "Est. 1657, Adams, England," over a shield, followed by "Calyx Ware," in script. There is also a black decorator's mark.
The cup measures 3-5/8 inches in diameter, and about 2-5/8 inches tall. The saucer measures 5-3/4 inches in diameter. There is no damage to the cup, but the saucer has a very tiny edge nick on the back.
