Bring a smile to breakfast with this Holt Howard Coq Rouge Red Rooster Double Egg Cup! Coq Rouge (French for Red Rooster) was a very popular and prolific pattern for Holt Howard during the 1960s. This crowing rooster in shades of bright red, yellow, and orange with black accents was designed to welcome family and friends to breakfast. The rooster is done in relief, turned so that it is heads-up on the front of the egg cup whichever end is in use. The rim of the small end is finished with a band of the same matching bright red.
This egg cup measures 3-3/4 inches tall and 2-3/4 inches in diameter on the large end, 2-inches on the small end.
Made by Holt Howard Japan between 1960 and 1964, it is stamped in black "©1961 Holt.Howard." A worn black and gold foil label with Japan across the middle and H above and below is also present.
Bear in mind that this is a vintage piece and may have minor flaws of age, but the colors are bright and clear and show little to no wear. There are no chips or cracks,
