Offered here is a Celtic Quality Plate Made in England metal chrome sherbet with a striking cobalt blue glass liner. This lovely Metal Filigree and cobalt blue glass dish will be a magnificent backdrop for small candies or mints. The pretty little chrome filigree holder has a scalloped rim with cut-outs that resemble a series of snowflakes. The base is attached with four tiny brads or posts that are flush with the surface on both sides. The solid cobalt blue glass dish insert makes this a piece stand out.

This metal pedestal bowl measures 2-3/4 inches tall and 3-7/8 inches in diameter at the top, 2-1/2 inches at the foot. The shallow blue glass insert is 3-3/4 inches in diameter and just 1-3/4 inches deep.

It is engraved on the underside of the metal holder with “Celtic Quality Plate Made in England” in a circle. There is no mark on the glass insert.

Made by Celtic Quality Plate, England, circa the 1950s-1960s, the chrome shows the patina of age and dark spots around the four posts that attach the base to the bowl. The glass insert has a 1-inch scratch in the bottom, and several tiny nicks, commonly called fleabites, along the mold seam along the rim. These were likely caused from being removed and reinserted into the chrome liner and do not detract from the beauty of this charming piece.
