This early Porcelain leaf-shaped Green Rim Sauce Bowl with pink rosebuds and gold trim has an incised mark of 1026. This charming little sauce dish is shaped like a leaf emphasized by its irregular zigzag green rim and cut out handle. The interior of the dish is dotted with sweet pink rosebuds and appropriate greenery. The green rim is decorated with an overlay of lacy gold florals and the edge is also gilded.
Sweet as a candy dish, this bowl measures 2-inches deep and 6-1/2 inches long by 4-1/2 inches wide.
Made circa the early 1900s, the underside is impressed with 1026 and underscored with a mark resembling a key. There is also a red artist’s mark that may be a 9 or a 6.
This is a vintage piece and may have minor flaws. There is minor wear consistent with its age, and a stray bit of green glaze here and there. There are no chips, cracks, or crazing to this darling piece.
Likely from Austria or Germany, the shape, style, and gilding suggest its age and origin, which has been verified by other listings of similar items.
