Pretty Clare Bone China Floral Teacup and Saucer is #596. This unusual cone-shaped teacup has an angled handle and is decorated with a multicolor floral motif featuring a large, dusty pink rose surrounded by other flowers in shades of yellow, orange, and blue with appropriate greenery. A large summer bouquet decorates the front of the cup and one side of the saucer, with a smaller bouquet opposite and on the back of the cup. The smooth rims are gold trimmed, and there is a band of gold around the inside of the cup. The handle and foot of the cup are also gold trimmed.
The teacup measures 2-3/4 inches tall and 3-3/8 inches in diameter across the top with another inch for the angled handle. It stands on a 1-3/4 inch shallow foot. The matching saucer is just under 5-5/8 inches in diameter.
Both pieces are stamped with a green and red crown and the words “Bone China, Made in England.” The name “Clare” is stamped beneath the crown in pink block letters. The pattern number 596 is handwritten on the cup. The Clare China Ltd., Ruby Works, Longton, Staffordshire, England use of this mark dates to 1951 onward.
There is an indentation on the side of the cup handle under the gold. There are no other condition issues.
