Offered here is a beautiful antique Northwood Diamond Point Amethyst Carnival Glass Vase. The long and narrow swung vase is fluid with an allover pattern of elongated diamonds that come to a point in the center of each diamond. The vase flares at the top with twelve flame-like tips and widens again at the bottom to a circular base. The iridescence ranges from a silvery-purple to golden bronze, with the interior just below the silvery tips exploding in fiery rainbow iridescence, with a ring of the same shades circling the base. This interior iridescence is more pronounced than captured in the photos.
This gorgeous vase measures 10-5/8 inches tall and 4-7/8 inches in diameter across the top, flowing to 3-3/8 inches at the base.
Made by Northwood from circa 1908 to 1919, it bears Northwood’s embossed, underlined N in a circle mark on the bottom.
There is a bubble in the glass near the top of one of the flame tips. The color may be somewhat worn with age, but this only adds to its beauty. There are no chips or cracks in this wonderful piece.
