Hull Crestone is so difficult to find in this scrumptious Turquoise color, and here it is in the attractive handled French Casserole With Cover! This beautiful color of the Crestone line is a solid high gloss turquoise with a white drip sea-foam edge. The white edging encircles the wide, circular finial on the top, covers the handle, and flows right around the rim of the casserole including the pouring spout. The foot and the inside ring of the casserole lid that fits down into the bowl are the only unglazed parts of each casserole.
This individual covered dish measures 6-1/4 inches in diameter, and 8-inches long including the handle. It is 2-3/8 inches tall, 3-3/4 inches with the cover. The cover is 4-7/8 inches in diameter.
It is marked with the impressed words "hull u.s.a./Crestone/©/Oven-Proof." Crestone was made in this color by Hull for only a short time from 1965 to 1967, making it a hard to find and very desirable color today!
The underside of two of the covers each has a shallow edge chip on the unglazed ring that is hidden when the lid is on. The underside of another cover has a 1/2-inch long shallow edge chip that does show from the outside when the cover is on. (Please see photos.) These covers will be the last three sold, so you can be assured that your purchase will have no chips. Other than a few negligible random glaze slips, pops, or shelf wear, there are no other condition issues on any of the remaining pieces.
