This sweetly romantic early 1900s purple anemone flower transfer plate is from Coiffe Limoges, France. Airy sprays of anemone flowers in shades of soft purples and whites sway on green stems with leaves of spring green on this lovely plate. The lifelike designs, one larger than the other, wave in muted tones opposite each other. The embossed and scalloped edge is painstakingly trimmed in brushed gold on a soft peach background.
This quality porcelain plate measures 7-inches in diameter.
It is marked with the green underglaze Limoges star mark with each letter of Limoges in a point in the star followed by the word "France." This mark was used by the Coiffe Limoges factory from 1890 to 1914.
There is only minor wear consistent with age, and no other damage to either plate. There is a dollop of extra gold on the back of one plate.
Priced separately for your convenience, two matching plates are available.
