This lovely Indian Tree design Bone China teacup and saucer was made by Tuscan, England. The large flowers on this cup and saucer set range in shades of soft pink to dusty rose, set off by the sepia brown stems, and leaves of green and teal. A few cobalt blue accent flowers are scattered throughout the design. The central Indian Tree motif is on the front of the cup and the center of the saucer. The pink and white flowers and blue-green foliage encircle the rim of the saucer, the rim on the back of the cup, and the inside top of the cup. The scalloped edges, foot, and handle are all trimmed in gold.
The teaup is 3-3/8 inches in diameter and just shy of 2-3/4 inches tall. The foot of the cup is 1-3/4 inches in diameter. The saucer is 5-1/2 inches in diameter.
It is stamped with the green underglaze winged crown with the words "Tuscan Fine English Bone China" and "Made in England." This mark was used by Tuscan from 1947 to 1967. There is also a green "T" artist's mark, and the pattern number in gold "C9977," followed by two more gold marks.
There is a pinpoint sized bump on the rim near the handle that is felt rather than seen. There is also a smudge of blue near the inside flower motif that seems to be under the glaze. Other than some wear on the gold rim consistent with use, there are no other condition issues.
