Here is a Creamer and Sugar set of high quality English Bone China by Aynsley in the Claridge pattern with the Cobalt Band. A multicolor floral motif featuring a deep pink rose, purple tulip, blue delphinium, and various other blossoms with green foliage decorates the center front of each piece, with smaller complementary floral bouquets dotted around the body of each. The sugar lid has a floral garland around the finial, and both the sugar and creamer have a scalloped top edge trimmed in gold, followed by a cobalt blue band, and a thin tan stripe. The sugar cover also has the cobalt band and tan stripe. The handles and finial on the sugar cover are trimmed with gold, and the narrow tan stripe runs around the bottom of each.
This sweet creamer is 3-1/2 inches tall to the top, 3-3/4 inches to the top of the handle. Oval shaped, it is 3-1/2 inches wide by 5-1/2 inches long, on a 2 by 2-1/2 inch foot. The matching sugar is 3-3/4 inches tall and 4-1/2 inches wide by 6-1/2 inches long across the handles on a 2-3/8 by 3 inch oval foot.
The backstamp is a Green Crown above the Aynsley Scroll, followed by "England." The words "Bone China" flank the crown. The pattern name, Claridge, is stamped in gold block letters.
Made by Aynsley, England, circa 1934, there is tiny non-discolored crazing and a couple of light brown age spots that are not major distractions. There are also a couple of negligible very tiny nicks on the underside of the lid that are hidden inside the sugar bowl. There is very little wear on the gold trim.
