Here is a gorgeous Coronet 22K Gold and Blue large serving bowl by Culver Glass that will be stunning at your next get-together! The Coronet pattern on this bowl features a 2-1/2 inch wide gold band that encircles the bowl in two sections. Each band has seven detailed designs of flowers, birds, fruits, and geometric shapes. The wide bands are bordered on the top and bottom with a gold zigzag narrow ribbon design. The outside of the bowl is gold on gold, while the reverse on the inside is blue on gold. This versatile bowl will be equally great for on the bar holding ice or punch, or on the buffet for chips or salad!
This Mid Century gold bowl measures 10-7/8 inches in diameter across the top flaring out from a 4-3/4 inch base. It is 5-3/4 inches deep. The included tongs are 7-1/2 inches long.
Culver did not sign all of their pieces, and this one is unsigned, but the Culver technique is unmistakable. Culver used the blue reverse during the 1950s and 1960s.
The gold on this bowl is so reflective that it is difficult to photograph to do it justice. Where some of the photos appear dull, the finish is actually highly reflective, and though there are a couple of fingerprint-like smudges on the gold, they are not readily noticeable. The appearance of dark spots in the photo were caused by reflections. The shine can best be seen in the photos on the inside of the bowl, but that shiny gold is also on the outside. There is very little wear on the bowl, if any, but there is some wear on the tongs.
