Here is a pretty Depression Glass crystal cereal bowl made by MacBeth-Evans in the lesser-known S pattern or Stippled Rose Band. The main feature of this otherwise clear bowl is the Stippled Rose Band that circles the rim. An embossed, 1/2-inch stippled band is intersected in eight places with a single, open rose with heart-shaped petals. Each blossom is flanked by a leafy vine that ends in an upward curl. Each rose in the band is framed top and bottom by an embossed three-leaf and curled vine motif. The center bottom of the bowl is decorated with a stippled rose design that is similar, but not identical, to the band. As you run your fingers around the rim, you can feel a subtle ripple to the edge of this sweet bowl.
This cereal bowl measures just 1-1/2 inches deep and 5-3/8 inches in diameter, just right for a small bowl of oatmeal!
S Pattern was made by Macbeth-Evans from 1930 to 1933. There is no mark.
As is common in vintage glassware, there are expected minor surface scratches. There is no other damage.
