Offered here in pink, Jeannette Sierra Pinwheel Depression Glass dinner plates are becoming difficult to find, partly because of the tiny points on each rib that can so easily break. Sierra, or "Pinwheel," is known for its distinctive sawtooth edge on ribbed panels ending in the pinwheel design that resembles a circular saw blade.
This glass dinner plate measures 8-3/4 inches in diameter.
Sierra was made by Jeannette Glass from 1931 to 1933. There is no mark.
As is common in vintage glassware, there are expected surface scratches. There is also a 1/8-inch shallow edge chip on the back side. This is right next to a rib, so it is difficult to see, and the point is not affected.
