This Miss America Pink Depression Glass Oval Celery Bowl was made by Hocking Glass. The pretty Diamond Pattern of Miss America is unmistakable. One of the most popular Depression Glass patterns, its rows of hobnail diamonds and rays in the bottom of the plate give it plenty of angles for the light to reflect and bounce. The color is deeper than some of the other Miss America, but it is less orange than it appears in the pictures. Variation of color in this inexpensive glass is normal.
Production of this beloved pattern, from 1935 to 1938, spanned the 1937 merger that changed Hocking to Anchor Hocking Glass.
This beautiful glass celery bowl measures 10-1/2 inches long and 6-1/2 inches wide. It is 1-1/8 inches deep. It is not marked.
There is a long bubble in the glass at one end, and a couple of small indentations in the bottom that were formed in the processing. As is common in vintage glassware, there are expected surface scratches. There is also an inch long scratch on the back side.
