Here is the beloved Old Country Roses pattern by Royal Albert Bone China in a vintage salad plate. This plate bears the original backstamp for this long-lived pattern. Featuring the rose floral spray to match the pattern, the name "Old Country Roses" in red script followed by "Royal Albert/Bone China/England" in green, this mark dates this plate to between 1962 and 1972.
The Old Country Roses pattern was designed by Harold Holdcroft and introduced in 1962. On pure white Bone China, the design consists of a spray of three roses in deep red, orange, and pink. The roses blend well together with the aid of the soft green foliage and accompanying rose buds. The fluted rim is finished with 22K brushed gold.
This lovely salad or luncheon plate measures 8-1/8 inches in diameter.
There is a pinhead sized nick along the backside edge, but the gold is intact. There are also three equally tiny chips on the foot that do not impact stability. There is no other damage.
