A large and lifelike daffodil adorns these Woodland Wonder Bone China salt and pepper shakers by Royal Standard, England. These urn shaped paneled shakers are decorated with a large yellow daffodil backed by purple violets and green leaves. There is a smaller matching design on the back of each shaker. Both are trimmed with gold around the foot and the top rim, with another ring of gold at the base of the slightly domed shaker top. The salt shaker has 13 holes, while the pepper shaker has only five.
Each fine quality shaker measures 3 inches tall on a 1-1/2 inch diameter foot. Each is about 2-1/4 inches at the widest part near the base.
Each shaker is marked in green underglaze "Fine Bone China England." This pattern was made by Royal Standard circa 1949 to1969.
The cork is missing from the pepper shaker and the other has been pushed up inside the salt. There is some wear on the gold, and a very narrow 1/4 inch dark line coming down from the top of the rim of the salt shaker. This is barely noticeable, can't be felt, and does not show up under black light, but it could be a tiny hairline crack so it bears mentioning. There are two extra yellow lines within the design on the salt shaker.
