No detail was missed in the design of this exquisite Copeland Spode "Cowslip" floral cup and saucer! This Cup and Saucer was manufactured sometime between 1942 and 1975. On a cream background, the Cowslip pattern boasts sweet yellow cowslip flowers mingled with blue and red blossoms on a meticulously detailed design of brown vines and florals. The scalloped cup and saucer is embossed with a basket weave pattern around the middle.
There are four sets available. The cups each measure 3-1/4 inches in diameter, 4-1/4 with handle, and 2-5/8 inches tall. The matching saucer measures 5-1/2 inches in diameter.
Each is marked in brown underglaze "S.713 Copeland Spode, England, Spode's Cowslip" on Spode's familiar rectangular shield. There is also an artist's mark "86" in red. A few pieces also have a green "21" and/or an incised "8."
Priced separately for your convenience, three sets have only minimal non-discolored crazing. The fourth cup has a shallow 2 mm edge nick in the dip of one scallop. This set is available at 50% off with purchase.
