This "Green Holly" Tree Shaped Candy Dish was made by Lefton during the 1960's into the early 1970's. The pattern, Green Holly, features sweeping deep green holly leaves embossed diagonally across this tree shaped dish to resemble pine boughs. Two additional sprigs of holly with red berries are applied to the top right and bottom left of the dish. The red holly berries have some errant drips of green glaze on them.
This deep green pottery plate measures 8-inches long by 7-inches at its widest by 1-inch deep.
It has the original red and gold foil label that reads "Lefton Trade Mark Exclusives Japan." The item number is stamped on the back in black "2691."
The holly leaf applied at the bottom of the tree has a bit of a rough feel to the top edge and looks as though a pinpoint sized spot of glaze may have been missed there. There is also a 1-mm sized nick on the bottom edge of the plate.
Deck the halls with boughs of holly! When you need a little Christmas, this is the perfect Lefton serving plate to dress things up a bit.
