These whimsical Milk Glass Rooster Cocktail Cups were made by Westmoreland Glass. Each white milk glass sherbet has sprouted a fanned tail with the head of the chicken on the opposite side to become a delightful cocktail cup! With cold painted features, the feet are molded into the stem, and the sides of the cup have molded wings. The comb, wattle, and feet have been painted red, and the claws of the feet, the eyes, and the beak are black.
Each vintage glass stemmed cocktail measures 3-3/8 inches in diameter and 3-1/2 inches tall. Each is about 5-1/4 inches from head to tail.
Made by Westmoreland circa 1930s-1940s, there is no mark.
Offered as a set of two, the tip of the fifth feather on one rooster’s tail has been chipped off, but the paint is clear and intact on both cups. Other than needing a little cleaning, there is no other damage.
These little chickens would be cute used as a sherbet, or perfect at Easter for serving those tiny chocolate eggs or jelly beans!
