Hazel Atlas produced this distinctive Moroccan Amethyst color, offered here in the Octagonal Dinner Plate, during the 1960s. Each of these eight-sided plates has no other decoration than the rich purple color of Moroccan Amethyst and the circular inner rim. These plates were made both with and without the raised ridge about 3/8-inch inside the rim. These plates are smooth and do not have the raised ridge.
Each dinner plate measures 9-3/8 inches across, 10-inches corner to corner.
Hazel-Atlas had become Hazel Ware after being acquired by Continental Can in 1957 and produced many shapes in Moroccan Amethyst during the 1960s. There is no mark.
Each plate has some spots and streaks with subtle iridescence as often happens with glass after going through the dishwasher cycle. As in most vintage pieces, there may be normal, small surface scratches, but these are minimal. There are no other condition issues.
