Named for its beautiful color, each of these mid-century Moroccan Amethyst square Serving bowls by Hazel Atlas Glass has no other decoration than the rich purple color of Moroccan Amethyst and the square foot that can be seen through the bottom of the transparent glass. Matching other items I have listed in this pattern, each edge of the square foot curves slightly inward and has a concave 1-3/4 inch circle in the center which provides a variation in the color.
Each square bowl measures 3-inches high at the rim. The base is just 2-1/2 inches square and the sides flare to reach 5-7/8 inches across each side.
Made by Hazel-Atlas during the 1960s, there is no mark.
There is no damage to either bowl, though there is an occasional small bubble or dimple in the glass. This manufacturing flaw is typical of vintage glassware.
