Here is beautiful Miss America Pink Depression Glass in the large Straight Sided Fruit Bowl by Hocking. The pretty Diamond Pattern of Miss America is unmistakable. One of the most popular Depression Glass patterns, its rows of hobnail diamonds and rays in the bottom of the bowl give it plenty of angles for the light to reflect and bounce. The rim of the bowl follows the zigzag pattern of the diamonds.
This large serving bowl measures 9-inches in diameter and 4-inches deep.
Production of this unmarked pattern, from 1935 to 1938, spanned the 1937 merger that changed Hocking to Anchor Hocking Glass.
There is a nearly invisible nick on the side of one of the points at the top of the bowl. You can feel a popped bubble or straw mark inside the side of the bowl, but it does not show up under a magnifying glass or black light. Other than the expected flaws characteristic of Depression Era Glass, such as bubbles, mold seam roughness, or other irregularities, there is no other damage.
