Blenko handcrafted this stunning large Asymmetrical Amethyst Glass Bowl for their 955 line during the 1950s and 1960s. The flowing Mid Century Free Form lines in this oval bowl come to a point at each end and showcase the depths of the beautiful amethyst color. Shown in Blenko Catalogs of 1953 and 1957, the glass has the subtle look and feel of concentric rings created in the formation of this hand blown art glass piece.
Proudly proclaiming that no two are alike, this irregularly shaped oval bowl measures 15-3/8 inches long by 12-inches wide and 2-5/8 inches deep. The circular ground and polished foot is 3-1/4 inches in diameter.
Made by Blenko during the 1950s to 1960s, the Blenko foil label is gone and there is no mark.
There are a couple of creases near the bottom, likely done in the making of this hand-blown bowl. As is common in vintage glassware, there are a few expected minor surface scratches. There is no other damage to this wonderful piece.
