Named for its beautiful color, this Moroccan Amethyst Large Round Serving Plate by Hazel Atlas Glass has no other decoration than the large square foot and the rich purple color of Moroccan Amethyst. Each edge of the square foot curves slightly inward and has a concave 5-inch circle in the center which provides a variation in the color. The points of the foot reach nearly to the edge of the plate. Perfect for nachos or veggies, the plate is flat enough to use as a spectacular serving tray for drinks. Makes a great cake plate, too!

This plate measures 11-7/8 inches in diameter, and the rim is turned up about 1/4-inch on an otherwise flat plate. The 6-1/2 inch Square foot lifts the plate about 1/4-inch off the table.

Made by Hazel-Atlas during the 1960s, there is no mark.

As in most vintage pieces, it is not perfect and shows minor surface scratches, including one noticeable 3-inch surface scratch in the center of the plate. There is no other damage to this wonderful piece.
