The delicious teal color of this Doric and Pansy Cup and Saucer was named Ultramarine by Jeannette and is one of the more unusual shades of Depression Glass. Doric and Pansy is a pretty panel and grid molded pattern. The top band of panels alternates between starbursts and pansy blossoms, while the larger, lower band has a pansy in each panel. The bands are separated by narrow concentric rings.
The cup is 2-1/4 inches tall and 3-1/2 inches in diameter at the rim, with a 1-7/8 inch flat foot. The matching saucer is 5-5/8 inches in diameter.
Doric and Pansy was made by Jeannette for only a short period in 1937 and 1938. There is no mark.
There are some stains in the creases in the pattern that may clean out with a good scrubbing, and there is a tiny nick on the foot of the cup that does not effect stability. There are a couple of smooth spots along the rings in the pattern that may be a pinpoint nick or a popped bubble. There are no other condition issues.
