Offered here is a Royal Albert Salad plate in the beloved Petit Point pattern. The Petit Point pattern is made to resemble needlepoint with a background grid of pale gray. A medallion in the center features pink roses accented with soft blue and bright yellow flowers backed by greenery. The floral motif is repeated at each of the four corners with a smaller matching design between. The central motif and the inner and outer rims are decorated with a red, yellow, and blue zigzag motif. The outer rim is edged in gold.
This luncheon plate measures 7-5/8 inches square, 8-1/2 inches across the diagonal.
Petit Point was made by Royal Albert China from 1932 to 1997.
The Royal Albert Crown mark in deep pink reads "Royal Albert/Bone China/England/Reg.No.778676." "Petit Point China" is written in blue script above the registration number.
As in most vintage pieces, there are normal, small surface scratches. There is a tiny 1-mm nick on the backside edge, and there is a 1/8-inch narrow edge chip at one corner where the gold has been pushed in. Neither of these take away from the beauty of this charming pattern.
