Offered here is a Milk Glass Rooster Cocktail Cup made with a sense of humor by Westmoreland Glass. The white milk glass cocktail has sprouted a fanned tail with the head of the rooster on the opposite side. The feet are moulded into the stem, and the sides of the sherbet have moulded wings. I have more of these cups also listed that were factory painted, but this one is pure white with no additional decoration.
This vintage glass stemmed cocktail measures 3-3/8 inches in diameter and 3-1/2 inches tall.
Made by Westmoreland circa the 1930s and 1940s, there is no mark.
There is a tiny pinhead sized nick on the underside of the tail and another on the underside of the foot. Neither of these is a distraction to the look of the piece.
This little chicken would be cute as a sherbet, or perfect at Easter for serving those tiny chocolate eggs or jelly beans!
