Hazel Atlas produced this distinctive Moroccan Amethyst color, here in the Octagonal Cup and Saucer, during the 1960s. These eight-sided pieces have no other decoration than the rich purple color of Moroccan Amethyst. The foot of each cup has the octagon shape with a rib coming two-thirds of the way up the side. The top of the cup is round.
The cup measures 2-1/4 inches tall and 3-5/8 inches in diameter across the top extending another inch with the handle. The matching saucer is 6-inches in diameter, 6-3/8 inches corner to corner.
Hazel-Atlas had become Hazel Ware after being acquired by Continental Can in 1957 and produced many shapes in Moroccan Amethyst during the 1960s. There is no mark.
As though they were rarely used, there are only minimal surface scratches.
