A pair of exotic pheasants is the focus of this Pierced Rim Bread-and-butter plate by Schumann, Bavaria. One regal game bird stands in the foreground in shades of golden yellow, rose-pink, and deep blue, while the second bird is caught in flight. An abundance of large flowers in complementary pinks, yellows, and blues on a bed of greenery encircle the birds. The pierced and scalloped rim of this small plate is edged in gold on both the inner and outer border.
This delicate plate measures 5-3/8 inches in diameter and curves up slightly to 3/4-inches deep.
Made by Schumann circa 1945, it is stamped in blue with the Schumann Bavaria lion shield. The word "Bavaria" arches above and "Schumann" is written below the shield.
There is some wear on the gold. Other than a few minor surfaces scratches, there are no other condition issues.
