There is very little that compares to the quality of Haviland, Limoges, from France, and this beautiful dinner plate decorated with pink roses and blue scrolls is a fine example. The pattern, Schleiger number 57s, is a romantic motif of airy pink roses and five-petaled flowers dancing around the rim on vines and tendrils with spring green foliage. Pale blue scrolls accent the flowers with just the right touch to set this plate apart. A single matching floral motif dots the center. The plate has an incised bellflower rim.
This pretty plate measures 9-5/8 inches in diameter.
It is marked in green underglaze with the arched "Haviland/France." There is also a red arched Haviland & Co. Limoges over the glaze. These marks were used by Haviland, Limoges circa 1894 to 1932.
There are expected minor surface scratches consistent with age, and a pinhead sized dark nick on the edge.
(The other dark spots are dust that I didn't catch before uploading the photo!) I'm so happy you stopped in to Maggie Belle's Memories! Please "Like" us on Facebook for updates and fun information!
