This sweetly romantic Shelley Bone China salad plate is in the Pompadour pattern. The Pompadour pattern is #13516, and consists of a pastel floral garland of pink roses and other flowers in blues and yellows with delicate greenery. This motif is repeated in the large center bouquet, and a pink band dotted with white rings the inner and outer rims. The scalloped rim is finished with a gold edge.
This pretty luncheon plate measures 8-1/8 inches in diameter. It is marked in green underglaze with the script "Shelley" in shield with the words "Fine Bone China" above and "England A" below. "Pompadour 13516" is stamped in brown, and there is a red artist's mark off to the side. This mark was used by Shelley from 1945 to 1966.
The only evidence of use is the expected minor surface scratches.
