This wonderful Dainty Shape Bone China Teacup and Saucer dotted with Roses, Pansies, and Forget-Me-Nots is #13424 and was made by Shelley, England. Pink roses, purple and yellow pansies, and blue forget-me-nots dot the fluted cup and the matching saucer. The Dainty Shape has triangular panels that form a six-pointed star alternating with pleated panels that form a scalloped edge. The handle and the rims of both pieces are trimmed with pastel blue.
This sweet teacup is 2-3/8 inches tall and 3-1/2 inches in diameter. The saucer is 5-3/4 inches in diameter.
This pattern was produced by Shelley between 1945 and 1966.
Each piece is stamped in green underglaze with the script "Shelley" in shield. "Fine Bone China" is above the shield with "England" below. There is also a handpainted 13424 in red on the cup, along with a couple of tiny artist's marks on each piece.
The blue on the edge of the cup shows slight wear, but there are no other condition issues on either piece.
