A lovely Aynsley Blue Swirl C5479 Bone China Teacup and Saucer with a Floral Interior to rival Dresden flowers! This delicate teacup and matching saucer have a charming swirled rib design. The palest blue glaze covers the swirled outside of the cup and the wide rim of the saucer, leaving the cup well white. The inside top of the cup is decorated with a multicolored floral design of assorted blue, purple, orange, and yellow flowers and greenery, framing a large waving pink tulip. The scalloped rims of both pieces are gold trimmed, and the handle of the cup is decorated with a deep pink accent.
The teacup measures 2-1/4 inches tall and 3-1/2 inches in diameter across the fluted and scalloped rim, with another inch for the handle. It stands on a 1-3/4 inch diameter flat foot. The matching saucer is 5-1/2 inches in diameter.
The backstamp is the familiar Green Crown above the Aynsley Scroll, followed by "England." The words "Bone China" flank the crown. This mark was used by Aynsley circa the late 1920s to 1939. The pattern number C5479 is handwritten on the cup.
There is a tiny porcelain bump on the saucer. Any wear on the gold is truly minimal. There are no other condition issues.
