On the popular Countess shape, this Royal Albert Bone China Teacup and Saucer is in the Tea Rose pattern. A spray of large sunny roses in shades ranging from buttery yellow to golden bronze decorates each piece. The teacup features a spray of two full roses and three buds backed by greenery and accented with touches of pale blue on the front. A single matching blossom is on the back and another adorns the inside of the cup. The roses on the saucer match the cup precisely, and both pieces are scalloped and trimmed with brushed gold. The scalloped foot and handle of the cup are also trimmed in gold.
The teacup is 3-1/4 inches in diameter, 4-1/4 with the handle, and 2-3/4 inches tall. The matching saucer is just over 5-1/2 inches in diameter.
Made by Royal Albert China circa the 1940s, the back stamp is the pink underglaze Royal Albert Bone China Crown mark with “Tea Rose” in green script and the registration number "RegNo.839056."
Other than minor wear on the gold rim consistent with use and a couple of small surface scratches on the saucer, there are no obvious condition issues.
