Elegant Fostoria Glass from the Depression Era is becoming increasingly scarce, and this Orchid Water Goblet on a clear, twisted stem is a true find! Blank #5097 stemware has a lovely twisted spiral stem that forms a 6-petaled flower at the top and bottom of the stem where it joins the foot to the bowl. Each of these tall goblets features a bell-shaped, paneled optic, orchid purple glass bowl on a clear, twisted stem.
This color combination on Blank 5097 was only made from 1927 to 1929 and is therefore rarely seen. When pinged, the ringing sound of the glass is like a delicate chime.
Each gorgeous goblet measures 7-1/4 inches tall. Perched on a 3-inch foot, the bowl is about 4-inches deep and 3-3/4 inches at the rim.
Made by Fostoria only from 1927-1929, there is no mark.
There is an occasional small bubble in the glass. This manufacturing flaw is typical of vintage glassware. A seventh goblet has a truly tiny, less than 1mm, edge nick. This goblet will be discounted 50% upon request with the purchase of another. There are no other condition issues.
