The pattern of this romantic Bone China teacup, saucer, and dessert plate is Lyric Tunis Blue made by Crown Staffordshire, England. The wonderful three-piece set features an eye-catching sky blue border of blue-on-blue scrolls trimmed with golden yellow scrolls that frame multicolor floral garlands each centered with a pair of roses in pink and yellow. Smaller flowers in blues, yellows, and purples dot the trailing greenery. Six matching rounded panels with the same blue motif outlined with golden yellow encircle the center of the plate, the cup ring on the saucer, and the lower portion of the cup. The inside of the cup has a single matching floral spray. The handle and foot of the cup and the scalloped rims of all three pieces are trimmed with gold.
The sweet and romantic teacup is 3-1/4 inches in diameter, with another inch for the handle, and 2-3/4 inches tall. The foot of the cup is 1-3/4 inches in diameter. The saucer is 5-5/8 inches in diameter, and the plate, technically a bread-and-butter plate, is 6-1/4 inches.
The back stamp, in green reads " Fine Bone China/Crown" arched above a crown over a cartouche with " Staffordshire/England ®” below. "Est. 1801" flanks the crown. There is also an artist's mark in gold on the cup.
Made by Crown Staffordshire between 1949 and 1978, Crown Staffordshire became part of the Wedgwood Group in 1985.
There is a pinpoint black dot to the right of the handle of the cup and a tiny nick on the underside of the foot that does not affect stability. There is another pinpoint black spot on the saucer just above the floral garland. There is a little white spot on the back side of the cup. While the long lines are reflection, there is a pinhead-sized nick in the glaze, along with a few short surface scratches there. There are no other obvious condition issues.
