Another treasure from Paragon Bone China is offered here in this S6624 teacup and saucer with the pretty Tulip bouquet inside the cup. The inside of this lovely teacup is decorated with a multicolor tulip and rose bouquet on a buttery yellow background. The heavily petaled rose is done in shades of deep pink, while the large purple tulip bends away from it in the opposite direction. The flowers are backed by bright green leaves, and accented with smaller flowers in shades of red-orange, pink, and blue. The well of the saucer has a matching purple tulip. The outside of the cup and the rim of the saucer are covered in mint green, while the foot and handle remain snow white. A narrow gold band rings the saucer center, and the handle, foot, and scalloped rims are also gold trimmed.

The teacup is 3-7/8 inches in diameter and 2-1/8 inches tall. The foot of the cup is 1-7/8 inches in diameter. The saucer is 5-5/8 inches in diameter.

Double Warrant backstamp reads: "Paragon, By Appointment to HM the Queen & HM Queen Mary, Fine Bone China, England Regd." Both Royal Warrants were issued by the respective Queens in the 1930's, and this mark was used circa 1939 to 1949. A handwritten number "S6624” is also on the back of the saucer.

There is a 1/4-inch shallow edge chip on the foot that at a glance blends in with the scallops and does not come into the gold trim. It is directly south of the back stamp in the photo, and on the front of the foot when the handle is on the left. It blends so well, it is easily missed and better felt than seen. There are also a couple of gray utensil marks on the inside of the cup and about six faint ones on the back of the saucer. There is also a stray bit of gold just below the rim on the outside of the cup, which of course was done in production. However, when you follow the pattern of the scalloped edge, it is easily spotted.

Item ID: 51808RL

The minor damage to the foot results in a wonderful opportunity to purchase this gorgeous set at a significantly reduced price. Thank you for stopping by. Please visit MaggieBelle's Memories often!
